With the help of our partners in labour, business, education and government the Construction Sector Council (CSC) works to identify critical human resources challenges in the construction industry and find common solutions and approaches.
Over the next few years, the CSC will be working in four priority areas, as identified by our partners:
- Labour Market Information making key labour-market information available to help deal with skills shortages, the aging workforce and the need for increased productivity.
- Technology at Work pilot projects that will use new technologies to help train in high-demand trades and improve workers mobility.
- Career-Awareness Programs improving the image of the construction industry and encouraging young people to consider a career in construction. Find out more about what the CSC is doing to raise awareness and attract young people to construction trades.
- Standards and Skills Development ensuring the ongoing availability of highly skilled workers through skills upgrading. National occupational standards and essential skills are two current industry-led priorities.
At the CSC, we depend on the knowledge, expertise and wisdom of our partners to help us find solutions to critical human resource issues. We are constantly on the lookout for new partners. If you are involved in the construction industry and would like to play an important role in the future development of our workforce, why not find out more about becoming a CSC partner?
